Stone County DHS, 1821 East Main Street, HC 71 Box 159, Mountain View, AR 72560 Children's Medical Services (CMS) is a section of the Division of Medical Services, Department of Human Services. CMS is Arkansas' Title V agency for children with special health care needs. Children and their families receive care that is community-based, family-centered and culturally sensitive. The services that Children's Medical Services provides are: Service coordination for children under 21 with special health care needs. Diagnostic evaluations for potentially eligible conditions covered by Children's Medical Services. The family must submit an application for Children's Medical Services prior to beginning the diagnostic work-up. Follow-up medical care for children with chronic illness and disabilities. The family must meet diagnostic and financial guidelines. Coordination of TEFRA and SSI; Parent Support Groups; Children's Medical Services Parent Advisory Council; a Resource Library, that furnishes medical information and/or directs the parent to possible resources; and the Respite Program, beginning October 2001. ...(Read More)

No one is turned away due to inability to pay. The Marion County Health Unit clinic provides immunizations for children from birth through 18 years. Adults can receive a Tetanus booster, MMR and TB skin test. There is a $5.00 record maintenance charge assessed; however, if the client has Medicaid, there is no charge. The WIC (Women, Infant, Children) program serves over 500 people in our area. It is a nutrition-based service for eligible pregnant women, new mothers (for up to 6-12 months), and children up to 5 years old. Nutrition counseling is available through our Registered Dietician, who provides help to not only those in the WIC program but also to those referred by local physicians for diabetic counseling. Women's Health is of primary concern, and the clinic provides Family Planning services, Maternity care and Breast and Cervical Cancer Control program services. Women entering this program must meet the applicable criteria. Marion County In-Home Services provides Home Health, Home Care and Personal Care to Marion County residents who have a medical need and meet the necessary criteria. Aid can also include Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The coordinator for Community Based Case Management works with people 60 years and older who are on Medicaid and in need of not otherwise provided services. The Marion County Environmental Health Specialist is also housed in the health unit.
