Children's Medical Services (CMS) is a section of the Division of Medical Services, Department of Human Services. CMS is Arkansas' Title V agency for children with special health care needs. Children and their families receive care that is community-based, family-centered and culturally sensitive.

The services that Children's Medical Services provides are:

Service coordination for children under 21 with special health care needs.

Diagnostic evaluations for potentially eligible conditions covered by Children's Medical Services. The family must submit an application for Children's Medical Services prior to beginning the diagnostic work-up.

Follow-up medical care for children with chronic illness and disabilities. The family must meet diagnostic and financial guidelines.

Coordination of TEFRA and SSI; Parent Support Groups; Children's Medical Services Parent Advisory Council; a Resource Library, that furnishes medical information and/or directs the parent to possible resources; and the Respite Program, beginning October 2001.
